About Kim

Kim Andres is an internationally respected senior business leader with more than 30 years experience with credit unions, co-operatives, Centrals and affiliated organizations including deposit insurance agencies. For eight years, Kim led the consulting group at Credit Union Central of British Columbia (now Central 1 Credit Union) and since 2008 she has owned and operated Andres Consulting, a boutique consulting agency focused specifically on meeting the needs of Canadian credit unions.

Kim has partnered with credit unions from coast-to-coast providing a broad array of strategic planning, governance and operational services. She has worked as the chief executive of a multi-branch Victoria-based credit union and has served as a member of the executive team of a mutil-billion dollar inter-provincial central. Kim is a familiar face within the Canadian credit union system, having facilitated group meetings and strategic planning sessions for individual credit unions, provincial centrals, subsidiary organizations as well as Credit Union Central of Canada.

Achievements

Kim's hand's on experience is complemented by a wealth of academic accomplishments. She holds a Masters of Business Administration (MBA) degree from Queen's University and attended the Advanced Leadership Institute at Harvard University. Kim is a Certified Management Consultant (CMC), a certified Corporate Director (ICD.D) and a certified Credit Union Enterprise Risk Management Expert (CUERME).

Kim has been recognized for her contributions to the credit union system. In 2006, she was honoured with a Rising 100 distinction from the Madison, Wisconsin-based Credit Union Executive Society. An engaging and informative orator, Kim has been a speaker at numerous national and international credit union forums.
